Fun Filled Olympic National Park Beach Celebration

It’s days like this that really remind me how much I love this job. From the stunning setting of an Olympic National Park beach, a fun loving and adventurous couple, AMAZING light- this day was honestly one to remember.

I’m lucky enough to know Traci and Bill through work (they are a rad Elopement Photographer team) and when an opportunity presented itself to have an Olympic National Park elopement inspired shoot to celebrate Traci’s birthday… I mean it was a no brainer. I know the PNW is known for it’s *moodiness*- foggy air, gray skies, deep green forests… but I won’t lie to you. When I was greeted with a cloudless blue sky I was pretty stoked. I am and always will be, obsessed with the sun.

Washington is home to three national parks and Olympic has more variation than one might expect- mountains, forests, it’s famed beaches. Before meeting up with Traci and Bill I was checking out a forest that seriously could be straight out of Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. It really did the trick convincing me of all the magic that could be an Olympic National Park elopement.

I met up with the couple in the parking lot- said hi to their adventure cat, Indy- then we walked down to the beach. The pebbled shores, angled rocks, piles of driftwood, and shimmering waves really created the perfect setting for the most fun shoot ever- Bill and Traci scaled rocks, chased the surf, walked driftwood like balance beams, and never stopped moving, playing, or laughing. The sun set and set the ocean mist alight- it really was a fun, stunner of an evening (and truly- such a great spot for an elopement!)

Like I said. Amazing freaking day 🙂
