Dreamy Lost Dutchman State Park Wedding

A Lost Dutchman State Park Wedding Full of Family

Oh this elopement 🙂 There are so many things about this day that were magical. The desert was a special place for Ashley and Alec, and this January day was so perfect. The forecast had been calling for rain for several days but as is the way with the desert- the rain held and instead we were gifted with scattered fluffy clouds (which is honestly kind of rare out here so was super special). It was a perfect day for a Lost Dutchman State Park wedding.

Also, yes, this was in January. So for those of you wanting a winter wedding but don’t want to contend with freezing temps, AZ really is the perfect spot. But I digress!

We started the day at meeting at Lost Dutchman State Park for a first look. I absolutely love first looks. Ashley looked so stunning in her flowing gown and Alec’s reaction was so sweet. I then got to meet their sweet dogs, Gracie and Lulu, who looked so adorable in their floral wreaths! (PRO TIP: Not all parks allow dogs! If you have fur babies you absolutely should bring them to your elopement! But make sure to bring this up to your photog, like Ashley and Alec did, so we can pick a spot that permits the doggos).

Ashley and Alec had an emotional ceremony surrounding by their closest friends and family with the stunning Superstition Mountains serving as their backdrop. There was clearly so much love in this group of people, so many happy tears and hugs. They said their vows, the kissed, and were married!

After signing their marriage license (and Ashley getting some help from her dad into her hiking shoes) we set off to explore during sunset. Lost Dutchman State Park really lit up as the sunset (and Ashley and Alec LOVE sunsets, so I was really happy that the desert put on a show for them!)

This really was a great example of how magical blending adventure and family can be. It really was such a beautiful day and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it. Check out this blog post on eloping with friends and family.
