Moab is one of my favorite places for a hiking elopement, because most of the hikes people do are totally doable in formalwear, and most of the hikes my couples pick are under 3 miles round trip. This spot in particular is a fave- not too much elevation gain, but a couple fun obstacles (pictured in this post!) that make the hike such a fun adventure.
And that is what this Moab hiking elopement was with Z + L. A fun adventure. The whooooole process- from our first call to the end of their elopement day, was fun, chill, and relaxed. The goal was to ditch the stress of a traditional wedding and have a day focused on them. And that’s exactly what happened.
It was my first elopement of 2025, and really did the trick in exemplifying why I love March elopements in Moab. You literally could not have asked for a more beautiful day. We met up in a parking lot right before sunset before departing on our hike together. Z + L managed their hike in their wedding gowns like complete champs- hiking in a wedding dress is no small task.
We arrived at our destination- a massive sandstone arch, where Z + L exchanged personal vows and rings. Then they enjoyed a hiking breakfast of chicken and waffles (brilliant) before taking some time to enjoy the scenery, and then hike back. We met up at sunset at a totally different part of Moab (PRO TIP: This is my most popular timeline structure, and for a reason. You get to experience two different locations, sneak in a nap, and get the best light of the day). There they enjoyed some cake and more leisurely hiking around the desert vista at sunset. We stayed until the stars came out, making for some of my favorite lantern photos to date.
This Moab hiking elopement was perfect- relaxed, fun, and adventurous. I feel so lucky to have been a part of it.

And finally, some immensely kind words from the couple!
I cannot emphasize enough how happy we are that we chose Aimee as our photographer for our elopement. The results (the most amazing, epic, and beautiful photos ever taken of us) do speak for themselves but also the journey along the way was so full of joy, comfort and laughter. I was pretty nervous to attempt a hike in the desert in a wedding gown at 7AM HOWEVER, after chatting with Aimee at the trailhead, I felt instantly at ease. Over and over again she demonstrated the most encouraging and positive attitude. She supported our choices for the day while also offering tremendous knowledge and expertise to help guide us. She helped us to have the unique wedding day that not only we really wanted, but that suited us so well, and she captured it beautifully. We have had numerous people comment that the photos Aimee took are the most stunning wedding pictures they’ve ever seen and part of that is how she was able to truly capture who we are and our relationship.
I would recommend her to everyone! I’ve already tried to convince several people I know to get married or to renew their vows so they can have this same experience.
