I’m so so excited to finally be sharing C + B’s Sedona micro wedding with you today. It was a stunning Spring day in red rocks of Arizona, and so full of love and adventure.
The day dawned clear and perfect (if not a little windy). I was so excited to make the quick 45 minute drive down to Sedona- I’d already gotten to hang out with C + B during their engagement session the fall prior, and it had been SUCH a fun time, so I’d really been looking forward to their micro wedding. C + B got ready in two different airbnbs, and I darted between the two as everyone got ready. The joy was a real, palpable thing as B opened a gift from C, and as C’s mom helped her into her wedding dress (which… WAIT till you see C’s dress. Holy Toledo).
Something that I’ve noticed with elopements and micro-weddings, is that so much of the vibe of the day rides on the couples attitude. While C + B incorporated a lot of elements of a traditional wedding, it always *felt* like an elopement. Relaxed, flexible, care-free, authentic, and joyful. We never felt rushed or like we were darting from one thing to the next- and this was something C + B were very intentional about and their timeline and hours of coverage reflected that. The day felt organic and natural right from the start.
With the stoke levels high, everyone made their way to their ceremony spot. I love this little gem in Sedona, and it was one we pivoted to in the weeks prior to C + B’s elopement (there’s that flexibility I was talking about). B arrived first and got situated, then C made her way down the worlds best red-rock aisle. Vows were read, rings were exchanged, and then? They were wed. It was beautiful and magical and so so perfect.
The couple celebrated with a toast before setting off on their own private adventure. I really love when couples do this and it’s becoming a pretty popular option for my couples choosing to have a micro wedding. Having a ceremony with loved ones, then spending some time just the two of them on an adventure. C + B chose to take advantage of Sedona’s epic off-roading, and took a 4×4 road up to one of the best views in town. There they got to explore, cuddle, and take in the stunning views just the two of them.
As the sun started to sink, we piled back into their jeep and headed back to the couples airbnb, where this Sedona micro wedding would wrap up with a meal prepared by a private chef, and of course, cake. C + B were kind enough to insist I join them at the table for dinner (big yum). Their families were so kind and generous, I felt part of the group at once. It’s genuinely one of my favorite parts of this job to get to know not just my couples, but their loved ones as well.
It was a genuine joy to be a part of this micro-wedding. Enjoy 🙂
