Fun fact about me: I have a REALLY hard time picking favorites. Like, in any capacity; favorite food? I’ll provide a list. Favorite movie? Yeah right. I was hoping that maybe as an Adventure Wedding and Elopement photographer that maybe, *maybe* it would be less difficult? Then I looked at the number of photos I took in the last year ::sweats:: and that hope went out the window. I knew tackling the endeavor of picking my favorite images for my 2019 year in review…would be… a task.
And lo! It was. Buckle in for what promises to be my longest post of all time. (sorry not sorry?) But as much as I agonized over which photos to pick, I was struck with how grateful I am for every single couple I worked with, for the landscapes I had the privilege to see, for the new (and also familiar!) places I got to visit. It was a big year for me- first full year in the southwest, the year I launched my elopement photography business, the year I fell even more in love with the Southwest. It was a year of tremendous growth and education. I would list all the things but that feels trite and gross.
Instead I’ll say this- I talk about Peak Existence and going after the thing you long for a lot. These are things very close to my heart and it’s what I want for my couples AND myself. I decided I was going to pursue being an Elopement Photographer on June 23rd 2017. It was a pivotal moment in my life. And here, having done that thing… folks. It is *so* worth it. This is the greatest job. To walk alongside folks as they pledge their forever to Their Person, and witness people’s Best Day Ever… lordy. I’m so grateful. Oozing gratitude, if you will.
So here are my faves from the year; elopements, adventure shoots, landscapes, travel, it’s all here. My year in review.
Thanks 2019. You were wild.
I rebranded this year; this means that a lot of my work that was booked under my original, not-elopement-adventure-wedding business, hasn’t had a chance to be featured because I didn’t want it to be confusing. SO I’m featuring some of it now because I truly worked with some of the most amazing couples and had the best time with them.
If you’re still here you win an award; that was LONG. I told you I had a really hard time picking favorites. But yeah, this year has been so amazing and I’m revoltingly grateful and SO EXCITED for what’s to come 🙂
